Omaha police officer punching a restrained man has led to an internal police investigation, Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said Saturday. "I will get to the bottom of this," Schmaderer said at a news conference. "There is an internal investigation in full swing and the investigation will be conducted thoroughly, fairly, and as swiftly as possible, because the citizens of Omaha and the men and women of the Omaha Police Department deserve a fair resolution." The incident began Thursday, when officers responded to a parking complaint in a north Omaha neighborhood, police spokeswoman Lt. Darci Tierney said. Officers were preparing to have some vehicles towed for expired tags when they say 28-year-old Octavius Johnson pulled up and approached officers in an aggressive manner. But video secretly taken by a neighbor shows an officer grabbing Johnson, who did not appear combative, from behind and throwing him to the ground. Later, the officer is seen punching Johnson in the face several times while Johnson is prone on the ground. Schmaderer did not take questions following his remarks Saturday, saying he's barred by the police union contract from discussing specifics of personnel investigations. The punches occurred after other officers left the scene to chase Johnson's younger brother, Juaquez Johnson, into his mother's house. The younger Johnson had been recording his brother's arrest on his cellphone. He and his family say police chased him because he refused police orders to stop recording. The family says police arrested Juaquez Johnson and confiscated his cellphone. A neighbor posted a recording of the incident online. Another brother, Demetrius Johnson, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant, The Omaha World-Herald reported. The men's aunt, Sharon Johnson, said an officer chasing Juaquez Johnson ran into her, knocking her out of her wheelchair. "We deserve an explanation of why we were treated this way

Pointe du Hoc is a promontory with a 100 ft (30 m) cliff overlooking the English Channel on the coast of Normandy in northern France. During World War II it was the highest point between Utah Beach to the west and Omaha Beach to the east. The German army fortified the area with concrete casemates and gun pits. On D-Day (6 June 1944) the United States Army Ranger Assault Group assaulted and captured Pointe du Hoc after scaling the cliffs. -- On June 8, 1944, the U.S. First Army established the temporary cemetery, the first American cemetery on European soil in World War II. After the war, the present-day cemetery was established a short distance to the east of the original site. Like all other overseas American cemeteries in France for World War I and II, France has granted the United States a special, perpetual concession to the land occupied by the cemetery, free of any charge or any tax. This cemetery is managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission, a small independent agency of the U.S. federal government, under Congressional acts that provide yearly financial support for maintaining them, with most military and civil personnel employed abroad. The U.S. flag flies over these granted soils The cemetery is located on a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach (one of the landing beaches of the Normandy Invasion) and the English Channel. It covers 172 acres (70 ha), and contains the remains of 9,387 American military dead, most of whom were killed during the invasion of Normandy and ensuing military operations in World War II. Included are graves of Army Air Corps crews shot down over France as early as 1942 and three American women. Only some of the soldiers who died overseas are buried in the overseas American military cemeteries. When it came time for a permanent burial, the next of kin eligible to make decisions were asked if they wanted their loved ones repatriated for permanent burial in the U.S., or interred at the closest overseas cemetery. Among the burials at the cemetery are three recipients of the Medal of Honor, including Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., son of President Theodore Roosevelt. After the creation of the cemetery, another son of President Roosevelt, Quentin, who had been killed in World War I, was exhumed and reburied next to his brother Theodore, Jr. Notable burials at the cemetery include: - Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., son of President Theodore Roosevelt, Medal of Honor recipient - Quentin Roosevelt, son of President Theodore Roosevelt, aviator killed in action in World War I In Saving Private Ryan (1998), the cemetery is featured at the beginning and end, showing World War II veteran Private James Francis Ryan accompanied by his family. In the beginning of the film, he makes his way to the grave of Captain John Miller (played by Tom Hanks). At the end, Ryan salutes the grave and asks his wife if he lived a good life and was a good man. (Both the grave and Captain John Miller are fictional; the headstone for Miller was only brought to the cemetery for the movie.) The Private Ryan story is based upon the story of the Niland Brothers, two of whom are buried in the cemetery; references are also made to the five Sullivan brothers, who were all killed in the "Juneau incident". ------- WN-62 was 332 meters long by 324 meters wide and between 12 and 50 meters above the beach, depending on the distance from the shore, with a good overview of the beach area. The foxhole Severloh claimed to have fired from (49°21′36″N 0°50′50″W) was 170 meters from the sea wall and around 450 meters from the landing area of the first wave of Higgins Boats. On D-Day (June 6, 1944) WN-62 was manned by 27 members of the 716th Infantry Division and 13 members of Severloh's 352nd Division, whose task was to direct fire of the 10.5 cm artillery batteries located 5 kilometres inland at Houtteville. Defences included two type H669 concrete casemates, one empty and the other with a 75mm artillery piece, a 50mm anti-tank gun, two 50mm mortars, a twin-barrelled MG34 7.92mm machine gun on an anti-aircraft mount and two pre war Polish machine guns. Another 50 mm anti-tank gun covered the rear, and the perimeter was ringed by barbed wire and anti personnel mines. Severloh was assigned to a Senior Lieutenant Bernhard Frerking as an orderly. While Frerking coordinated the artillery fire of the battery at Houtteville from a bunker, Severloh claimed he manned an MG42 machine gun. He says he fired on approaching American troops with the machine gun and two Karabiner 98k rifles, while a sergeant whom he didn't know, kept him supplied with ammunition from a nearby ammo bunker until 15:30. He claimed to have fired over 13,500 rounds with the machine gun and 400 with the rifles, giving a total weight of ammunition of over 560 kilograms. --

Omaha Beach reconstructs the early part of D-Day on Easy Red and Fox Green beaches (positioned just north and east of today’s Normandy American Cementary and Memorial). It is strongly adviced to start the app at the parking lot next to the beach just below the German WW II strong point WN 62. The Omaha Beach app reconstructs the events that took place here just before and after H–Hour (06:30 AM) in the morning of June 6 1944. Move around on the beach and the tidal flat in this area and experience the naval bombardment, the bombing and the rocket launch before the amphibious assault begins. See how the LCTs (Landing Craft Tank) disembarks three Sherman tanks each at the water’s edge more then 300 m from the high water mark. Observe also how the many LCVPs (Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel) delivers the infantry in the surf while under heavy German artillery, mortar and small arms fire. The reconstruction is as far as possible built on the rich documentation of this major event in World War II. The current version is an experiment in mobile augmented reality storytelling. Future updates will include the succeeding phases of the battle. NB! The Omaha Beach app is location–based and works only when you are physically on location. Exit D514 (Route d’Omaha Beach) at Colleville-sur-Mer and drive to the parking lot below WN 62 (Widerstandsnest 62). There you can launch the app and explore the beach and the dramatic events that took place here more than seven decades ago. Note also that since 1944 there has been very strong erosion on this part of Omaha Beach. The high water mark is now more that 25 m inland from what was the case during WW II. AutoNews- A police sergeant in Omaha, Nebraska, has retired early after he was accused of leaving fecal matter in public.Omaha Police Sgt. Matthew Manhart, 49, was head of the department's bomb response unit. He has been accused of leaving his own fecal matter where a manager at the training center would find it.Three sources told the Omaha World-Herald that there had been a continuing disagreement over storage and care of the bomb squad's equipment at the training center. He had been upset about the storage of a trailer and accused a facility worker of unplugging equipment that needed to be charged.According to the sources, Manhart had been told to move the trailer to make room for other vehicles.Reports vary over where the fecal matter was left, but it was apparently out in the open and not in a toilet. The 49-year-old retired recently and is still eligible for his retirement benefits, including unused vacation and sick days.Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer recused himself from any decision-making in the personnel matter, according to a spokeswoman from the police department.Manhart and the police chief have been friends since they were in the same 1996 police recruiting class.Omaha Police Sgt. John Wells, head of the Omaha police union, declined to comment to the Omaha World-Herald.He said: 'A man retiring when he is eligible to retire? I don't think that's newsworthy.'

OMAHA STANDARD PALFINGER demonstrates their new Personnel Basket, an aerial lifting device that attaches to the end of a service crane that collapses and stows into its own pack on the side of the body, saving valuable load space, and insuring its weight is on the axle, not behind it. We use a hydraulic leveling valve, rather than a friction brake, you adjust to limit sway and then lock it out when wrenching a piece of equipment. They mount on 6,000 lb. and up capacity cranes, full extension, the basket holds 300 lbs. and stays under the safety ratings.

Midwest's leading provider of vehicle wraps and environmental graphics. Our Story "....we had this brand new truck and we knew a vehicle wrap would get our business a lot of attention," recalls Scott. "We talked to everybody we could find, but all we found were boring graphics and sorry installs." Sign Builder, 2006 article That's how it all began, back in the Fall of 2004. Two brothers, Scott and Ryan Stara, had been looking for a vehicle wrap to advertise their spray-in bed-liner business. Unable to track down a local shop offering what they considered a "well-installed" wrap without slices and seams, they widened their search nationwide. The more research they compiled, the more they realized the potential for quality vehicle wraps in the Midwest. On a crisp afternoon back in January of 2005, they decided to invest in their own equipment, training and personnel to provide a product and service that met their standards. It was the start of something big... Revolution Wraps.com®. Combining Scott's marketing background and "people skills," with Ryan's more technical, computer-savvy nature, Revolution Wraps.com quickly became known nationwide as a provider of superior quality vehicle wraps and fleet graphics. An Omaha police officer shot and killed a dog on a public sidewalk. The officer's report claims the shooting was justified; however, the owners call the incident an execution of a friendly, family pet. Mike McKnight obtained surveillance video of the incident for a Fact Finders exclusive. On October 7th, after midnight, police blocked a street in the area of 35th and Vinton to look for an armed suspect. They say Chris Schulte, who lives in the area, ignored orders to stop and walked the family dog toward the search area. He was arrested and his dog, Teela, shot. Chris Schulte said, "You know I should have got back but I was just walking on. Not threatening, dog wasn't being aggressive." In the report by Officer Schuster and Officer Clement, the officers said "suspect's dog became aggressive, growled at officers, and showed its teeth before being shot and killed." Lt. Darci Tierney, Omaha Police, "The Omaha Police Department is aware of the incident and Chief Schmaderer has authorized an Internal Investigation into the matter. As with all personnel matters, the Omaha Police Department is unable to comment further. Per OPD policy, anytime an officer discharges his/her firearm during the course of their duties an arduous review of the discharge will take place."

Call 402 875 5497 Omaha Orthodontist - Call 402 875 5497 In Omaha Omaha is one of the most advanced states in the US, when it comes to quality dental care. With various developments in technology, patients can expect to find the best Omaha orthodontist. The best way to find a reputed Omaha orthodontist in Omaha is still the old fashioned way - word of mouth. Ask your regular dentist or physician for references. If they can suggest someone, that would be one of the best options. Patients could, however, identify reputed Omaha orthodontist through other resources like websites, yellow pages and so on. Before choosing an orthodontist in Ohio, it is necessary to conduct a personal interview with the specialist.Patients should feel comfortable with the doctors and the office personnel. Doctors must address your concerns as well as they can. It is also important to check out the facilities available. The relationship you have with the Omaha orthodontist is a long term one because most treatments take time. Therefore, you should not choose a doctor under pressure. Understand that there is no ready-to-order recipe for excellent care when it comes to medical treatments. group push#1 @ 3:30 (to final obstacles)/ group push #2 @ 5:55 (to front burms of German lines) July 15, 2017 @ Skirmish Paintball Park- Pennsylvania, USA. Event: Ion / Beaches of Normandy Players: 4,100+ / large scenario game Theme: D-Day June 6, 1944 allied beach landing This is a first person view from my mask cam of the allied perspective assaulting the omaha sector of the 'beach' as thousands of paintballs rain down on them a minute. Allied personnel start the game in "amphibious landing crafts" (like in saving private ryan) and land on the normandy "beach" under extrememly heavy fire from 1000+ German players in the tree lines. The allied objective was to push up the beach and break the german defensive front (not easy!!). Over 4100+ players attended the game making it unofficially the largest paintball game ever played in the world. PS: I got hit in the front of my hopper at the 36 second mark, but ION rules stated gun hits did NOT count for the event: http://www.skirmish.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/ION-Sheet-FINAL-1.pdf.
